What is the Pioneer Lifestyle? Are you setting trends or are you just following them?

January 4, 2016

You have likely heard me mention “The Pioneer Lifestyle” and are wondering what the heck that is!

What I had on my heart when I came up with the Pioneer Lifestyle” idea.
The Definition of pioneer is ” One who founds thoughts or ideas first, a trail blazer, fiercely independent and with other like minded people, interdependent. In need of no governing authority, a true maverick, original, one who creates reality and is not defined by it. ” basically a trend setter.

It’s how you approach every aspect of your life.

It all came from an argument I had with my fiance ( yes we argue, we’re normal ) when she asked me “Why do you always have to be different?”

I basically answered that I wasn’t interested in only following the crowd because most people were struggling in areas of their lives that I didn’t want to be struggling in. There is nothing wrong with struggling a little bit but I didn’t want to be stuck never living a life true to myself. I am interested in pioneering my own life and creating the life I want.

Have you ever asked yourself why so many people who follow the current finance, education, fitness, lifestyle, and religious trends are living such miserable lives?

Why do so many relationships struggle?

Why is everyone broke?

Why is everyone sick, tired, and out of shape?

A big one I ask is Why do so many college kids not get high paying jobs?

I ask myself those questions.

I decided to put current trends to the test. In all areas of the life I live. If I didn’t like current relationship trends for example ( like abuse, divorce, loss of feelings, cheating) I was going to find a way to create the relationship I wanted. The best relationship for Mariah and I. I was going to start cooking for her, opening her car door, letting her go first. All the little things that just made sense but I didn’t see many ( or any ) people doing.

The same thing goes for finances, health, business, my job and all areas of life. If you think like a pioneer, you start to realize that the life you want is just a few decisions away.

A pioneer is typically the first to do something. So maybe you have some trends in your family or in the people you spend your life with like poverty, abuse, alcoholism, negative thinking, bad grades, drugs, hate, gossip, obesity and you want to change that but you’re alone in your aspirations. I’m encouraging you to be a pioneer and venture out to discover if better is out there. I promise you it is.

I truly believe the pioneer spirit still lingers in most people. The pioneer spirit is really all about venturing outside of your “comfort zone” to find out if the life you really want is out there. It’s about blazing your own trail.

Stay connected. Subscribe.  I will be sharing more of how I apply the pioneer lifestyle in my life. Some changes I am making in life, and how they are working, and putting most everything we see in life to the test of “is this really working or not”?

The following quote by one of the worlds most well known pioneers puts this into words like I wish I could!

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Tell me your thoughts.

Am I crazy for thinking I can just mold life the way I want it to be?

I look forward to hearing from you.
