I was born on Halloween day in 1990. I am the oldest of four boys and the son of an amazing mother and father who have taught me so very much through out my life. I am engaged to the most beautiful woman on earth. We have been dating for 8 years come January 2016. We are high school sweethearts and are tying the knot in the summer of 2016. I am an avid outdoorsman, spending thousands of hours a year in the wild. I have always loved the outdoors, and protecting it is a huge passion of mine.
I was a bit rebellious in my younger days, but had a lot of fun. I still push the limits and am not afraid to try new things. I am an accomplished cook, through trial and error, and I rarely use a cookbook. My mother and fiance are my biggest fans when it comes to my cooking! I started working at the age of 15 at a local farm. The hot days certainly showed me what hard work was. But it was good work for a young boy. I held multiple different jobs including bagging groceries, working in a costume shop, hosting, busing, and waiting tables at my aunt and uncle restaurant, running heavy equipment in a quarry, even personal fitness training!
After school I became a little lost like so many young men of my generation. I tried this, and tried that. Started a few businesses and failed in a few businesses. I have always been entrepreneurial and knew I ultimately wanted to start a business of my own. I have done extremely well in most pursuits that I put my time into, and was always striving to be the best at everything I did. My life was a big example of the old quote “Go big or go home.”. Throughout all of this, my passion for staying outside grew, and although I love the ocean, and you couldn’t get me out of the water if you tried (ask my mother), I grew up surrounded by farms and forests and that’s where a lot of my story takes place. I decided to make it a goal of mine to work in the outdoor industry but soon found my vision surpassed what was possible in one industry.
I have always been different. I can’t put my finger on why, but I always ran in the opposite direction others were running in life. I want control of my life, I want happiness, and I am unwilling to settle for anything less. I believe success in life is a choice. I have always been convinced that the life I truly wanted to live was possible through thinking for myself and following the pull of what I love. I knew it to be so.
What concerned me was that not many other people thought that way. What concerned me was that most people were getting their life advice from the TV and the mainstream media. I made it my goal to encourage others to break the mold they have been put into and become a pioneer in their own life.
“Pioneers understand that they will either live the life others have created for them, or create their own.”
